Pre Lab

  1. Make Solutions
  1. Wash
  2. 20 g Sucrose
  3. Add water until dissolved at 100 mL
  4. Repeat if necessary
  5. Wash
  6. 10 g Sucrose
  7. Add water until dissolved at 100 mL
  8. Repeat (consistent with step 4)
  9. Wash
  10. 5 g Sucrose
  11. Add water until dissolved at 100 mL
  12. Repeat (consistent with step 4)
  13. Wash
  14. 2 g Starch
  15. Add water until dissolved at 100 mL
  16. Repeat
    1. Initial Readings
  17. Soak membranes in water and tie one end of the membranes
  18. Mass beakers
  19. Pour solutions into beakers and mass
  20. Transfer membranes to known mass, pure water beaker and mass the system
  21. Measure 5 mL of starch solution
  22. Pour solution into membrane and tie off
  23. Place membrane in experimental solution beaker and mass
    1. Final Readings
  24. Mass beaker and membrane systems
  25. Perform tests inside and outside
  26. Mass beaker and membrane systems
  27. Remove membrane and measure internal liquid volume
  28. Mass beakers
